Launched in 1997, the Talent Identification Program (TIP) was born out of a strategic alliance between the ISM International Scouting Center and A.C. Perugia Calcio SPA. Originally intended to spotlight emerging football talents, this initiative has significantly evolved. From 2020 to 2022, ISM International expanded its collaboration with AC Perugia, taking on the role of official handler for their International Scouting for the U17 to U19 categories. By 2023, ISM broadened its technical collaborations further, partnering with additional professional football clubs, thus establishing itself as a central hub for nurturing football talents.
Professional clubs, along with ISM, heavily invest resources annually into their youth divisions, underscoring the critical role played by the Talent Identification Program. The Program's core mission is to scout young athletes who exhibit exceptional technical and tactical abilities and shepherd them toward signing professional contracts.
Year One: Introduction and Assessment
Upon joining the Talent Identification Program at ISM – International Scouting Center, every player undergoes an initial evaluation focusing on technical and tactical prowess, guided by professional coaches. This assessment sets the stage for personalized training programs tailored to enhance each player's unique skills.
Year Two: Advanced Opportunities and Professional Engagement
In their second year, athletes who have demonstrated notable potential and improvement may get the opportunity to join one of the Professional Club Partners. This progression can include official membership and potentially a professional playing contract, depending on the player’s age and performance.
Consistency in Training
The intensity and structure of the TIP mirror those of a standard professional football club's training regime. Participants undergo daily training programs that are designed to refine their technical and tactical skills at a professional level.
Performance Measurement
Twice per season, the ISM International Scouting Center provides players with personalized reports that monitor and evaluate their technical and tactical development. This detailed feedback helps identify any deficiencies early on, allowing for targeted improvements in specific areas.
Exposure to Professional Standards
Throughout the soccer season, TIP athletes train with Italian Professional Clubs or engage in friendly matches at least four times. These experiences are crucial for players to showcase their skills and measure themselves against professional standards.
Training Kits Provided by ISM
Every player in the TIP receives a complete training kit, which includes:
* Soccer Bag
* Tracking Suit
* Two Training Kits (jerseys, shorts, and socks)
* Training Sweatshirt
* Polo Shirt
* Rain Jacket
* Winter Coat
The “Year-Round Talent Identification Program” ensures that talent scouts, coaches, and agents are perpetually observing and evaluating players. This constant scrutiny helps in discovering the best talents who are then offered chances to join prestigious clubs. During friendly matches and regular assessments, all players are provided with equal opportunities to shine, yet it meticulously pinpoints those with the most promise.
Through rigorous training, constant evaluation, and exposure to professional environments, the Talent Identification Program remains a cornerstone for discovering and nurturing football's future stars.
