Established in 2013, FC Malaga City Academy has quickly become renowned as one of the world's leading private, residential football academies, competing on a regular basis with some of Europe's biggest clubs and enabling talented footballers from around the world to experience the life of a full-time professional footballer here in Spain.

With a club philosophy centred around player development, our Academy staff are committed to remaining at the forefront of modern-day coaching methods. With countless years of experience and many of the staff having had experience playing/coaching at a professional level, players can expect to receive high attention to detail in the planning, preparation and execution of each training session.

Whilst each coach is given the freedom to implement their own individual style of management/coaching into their respective teams, our shared philosophies around player development mean that there is a clear identity to our programs´ structure, starting with our youngest age groups right through to our senior teams. This includes the amount of contact time each team receives as well as the subsequent training methodology integrated into the weekly planning:

ELITE YOUTH

Since 2013, we have been delighted to work with some of the best and most qualified coaches in the region. All of our Staff here at the Academy are at minimum UEFA B licensed coaches and hold extensive experience in developing talented youth players. Over the past 10 years, we have provided our players with the ultimate professional experience which is evident in the attention to detail of our program and the overall development of our players each season.

Our staff are dedicated to providing players with a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Their commitment to the project as a whole is unrivaled and it requires a special type of coach, mentor and most importantly, person to work here at our club. With this in mind, our experience is pivotal in creating a professional environment for our Academy members.

CLUB STRUCTURE

FC MALAGA CITY, TERCERA DIVISION

FC Malaga City Senior sits at the pinnacle of our club pyramid, providing a stepping stone into full-time professional football here in Spain. We are proud to see a number of Academy Alumni represented in this team and aspire to see further success in developing players capable of competing at this level. AGE CATEGORY: 18+

CD Almuñecar City

As a sister club to FCMC, CD Almuñécar City acts as a perfect platform for our senior players (18+) to further showcase their abilities at the highest level of semi-professional football here in Spain - Division de Honor. The club encompasses the wider Spanish community and gives players a real sense of the Spanish experience providing further opportunities for players to engulf themselves as full-time footballer here in Spain.

TERCERA DIVISION

Our U19 Academy side is our elite-level youth team within our club structure, competing on an annual basis with some of the biggest sides in European football. For many of our Academy Players, their dream is to compete in these professional showcase games and our Academy teams operate with the standards and values of a professional academy side. Over the years we are fortunate to have seen a number of U19 Alumni progress into playing opportunities around the world.

PROFESSIONAL SHOWCASE GAMES

Due to our expansive professional network and years of experience in providing high-profile opportunities throughout Spain and Europe, FC Malaga City now competes and collaborates with some of the biggest clubs in world football on an annual basis. In providing a full-time professional environment, it's important that our Academy players get to experience competing and working with an elite level of opposition and environment in order to receive a real insight into the demands of a modern-day professional.

With many of our Academy players using this platform to elevate themselves to further opportunities, the importance of this opportunity cannot be overlooked. Each year, FC Malaga City grows more ambitious in our pursuit to provide players with the ultimate football experience which means that there has never been a better time to join the world's leading private residential football Academy.

OUR EVENTS

At FC Malaga City we achieve a global outreach by utilizing our extensive professional network across the world in an effort to reach as many aspiring footballers, fans and like-minded organizations as possible. Our camps and events serve as an extension of this through multiple purposes:

Best Practice: Sharing our club philosophy at source is something that is particularly of interest to us here at FCMC, not only to provide knowledge on our methods and work ethos but also to learn from others. Through cooperative endeavors and a shared commitment to youth development, our overarching objective is to collaborate with entities that share our enthusiasm for nurturing football development from every corner of the globe.

Talent ID: Another main objective for our events is to function as a talent ID system, meticulously scouring the globe for gifted individuals who possess the potential to excel within our full-time residential academy based in Spain. By cultivating these connections, FC Malaga City´s scouting network extends to every corner of the globe as we continue on our mission to discover the best-unsigned talents outside of the professional game.

Local Club Placement

Over the years, #FCMC has cultivated a strong network of clubs across the region. Many of these clubs share our passion for our unique club structure and international player base.

For players ready to take the next step into competitive football, we leverage this network to create opportunities in local senior teams. This unique experience offers players the chance to immerse themselves in an authentic Spanish environment, fostering both footballing and personal growth.

While placement isn't guaranteed and depends on individual club requirements, we've had great success with this approach. We continuously monitor our players' progress, ensuring they maintain their full-time training schedule with FCMC. This allows us to potentially recall them to our senior sides at the right moment.

Partership with Tottenham Hotspur

FC Malaga City is delighted to announce a new innovative Global Football Development partnership with Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur. Started in September 2022, this working partnership sees FC Malaga City work side by side with one of the world´s leading football clubs, sharing best practices and using renowned, authentic training methods taken directly from Tottenham´s Academy to maximize the potential of our aspiring Academy players.

Tottenham's coaching staff will deliver interactive and informative coach education workshops in Spain, as well as host quarterly visits to their state-of-the-art training facilities in London for FC Malaga City staff members. In addition, Tottenham Hotspur will also host two football development residential visits for FC Malaga City players, providing high-intensity training sessions, matches against selected Academy opposition and the opportunity to hear from guest speakers across the Club.
